President Rocco Terranova

Rocco moved to Schaumburg area in 1985 after leaving the Harwood Heights Police Department.  While in Harwood Heights Rocco was a member of the Youth Commission working with the youth of the area.  After moving to Hoffman Estates, Rocco picked up right where he left off by Coaching and volunteering on several local community committees with the Hoffman Estates Park District, the District 211 Parental Committee and Director, Woodfield Area Children’s Organization.

After serving as a Police Officer Rocco had a career shift and became involved in the Local 73 Sheet Metal Workers Labor Union.  He worked his way up while serving as a Trustee, Organizer, Business Representative and ultimately elected as Local 73 President.

Politically, Rocco has been a lifetime Democrat working on the Executive Board Member to the Illinois State Council Sheet Metal Workers, serving as Secretary/Treasurer to the 8th District COPE, Chairperson – Northwest Suburban Labor Active Committee and in 2001 he was elected as Schaumburg Township Democratic Committeeman.

Rocco’s vision is to continue working to expand the ideals of the Democratic Party within Schaumburg Township and to increase membership and to strengthen the influence of the membership on the community.  He also wants to continue to reach out to all residents of our community and encourage participation, to advance the policies and ideals of the Democratic Party in Schaumburg Township.

When he’s not working his favorite past times are spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and occasionally fishing, watching movies and reading a good non-fiction book.

In the mid 70’s Rocco married his High School sweethearts Sue, and have they had 3 children: Tony (Janet), Michael (Heather) and Deana (Kirk) and Rocco and Sue are proud Grandparents of 2 grandchildren: Alyssa and Vince with a third Grandchild on the way.
